KEMAMPUAN PENALARAN MATEMATIS SISWA MELALUI PROBLEM BASED LEARNING PADA MATERI SISTEM PERTIDAKSAMAAN LINEAR DUA VARIABEL BERBANTUAN AI SYMBOLAB
This research aims to determine the mathematical reasoning abilities of students through problem-based learning on the topic of systems of linear inequalities in two variables, assisted by AI tool Symbolab. The subjects of the study consisted of 36 students with heterogeneous abilities (high, medium, and low) in class X at SMA Negeri 1 Palembang. This type of research is descriptive, analyzed both qualitatively and quantitatively, and consists of three stages: preparation, implementation, and data analysis. Data collection techniques include observation, tests, and interviews. Based on the data obtained through observation, written tests and interviews, it can be concluded that, in general, the mathematical reasoning abilities of students in class X.11 at SMA Negeri 1 Palembang are in the medium category. The students' mathematical reasoning abilities are categorized as medium because they still lack skills in presenting mathematical statements in writing, making conjectures, and drawing conclusions. Meanwhile, the low category of mathematical reasoning abilities is due to students not following problem-based learning well, not actively contributing, and not being involved in solving problems during group discussions. Furthermore, students in the high category of mathematical reasoning abilities were able to meet the five indicators of mathematical reasoning ability, although there were some slightly incorrect answers due to the students' lack of accuracy.
