EVALUASI TINGKAT KESADARAN DAN KEPATUHAN MAHASISWA PENDIDIKAN TEKNIK MESIN UNSRI TERHADAP PENERAPAN K3 DI LABORATORIUM PEMESINAN
Awareness and compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) in the machining laboratory are of primary concern. This study evaluates the level of awareness and compliance among students of the Mechanical Engineering Education program at UNSRI regarding OHS, using a qualitative approach through interviews, observations, and document analysis, involving 12 student respondents and 4 faculty respondents. The results show that students' awareness is at a moderate level, while compliance remains low, with violations such as not using personal protective equipment (PPE) and a lack of understanding of safety procedures. Contributing factors include poor-quality PPE, limited training, weak enforcement of rules, and inadequate facility maintenance. Recommendations include periodic procurement of PPE, further training, rule enforcement with sanctions, and routine maintenance of facilities. These findings are expected to improve the implementation of OHS in the machining laboratory. Keywords: Occupational Safety and Health (OSH), Machining Laboratory, Student Awareness and Compliance
