PENGARUH CAMPURAN BI0ETANOL SINGKONG DAN BAHAN BAKAR PREMIUM TERHADAP KONSUMSI BAHAN BAKAR DAN EMISI GAS BUANG PADA SEPEDA MOTOR EMPAT LANGKAH
Daily Explored and consumed petroleum will eventually run out, while the formation process takes millions years. The current availability of petroleum estimated only sufficient for a fe w years as the inc re asing of fuel consumption. Excessive fuel consumption will cause dwindling of petroleum reserve s, besides the exhaust gases from motor vehicles cause increasing air pollution. It led to do a research for developing alternative renewable energy more efficient both in terms of fuel consumption and exhaust gas emissions. Tests conducted on a motorcycle engine with four stroke spark ignition by using variations of speed engine and mixtures of cassava bioethanol and premium that is B E 0, B E 10, B E 20, B E 30 to obtain fuel consumption and exhaust gas emissions. The t e s t re suit s showed that the fuel consumption more efficient at engine speed of 40 km/ h with a mixture offuel B E 10. HC emission is the lowest and the highest is CO2 emission in B E 10, while the lowest is CO emission in B E 20.
