This research aims to find out how the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for Entry Letters are implemented in the Protocol Subdivision of the Regional Secretariat of South Sumatra Province. This type of research is qualitative descriptive using Linggapan Dalam theory (Susilowati 2017) regarding the Implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), data collection methods which is used by direct interviews with the Head of Subdivision, employees and letter senders. The results of the research show that the management of incoming mail in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures has been carried out well, but there are still a few employee errors in managing mail because employees do not have special skills in managing mail and have never attended training or technical guidance in managing mail in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.. Apart from that, this research contributes to understanding related to evaluating and minimizing errors that occur in managing letters so that in the future future errors do not occur. The implications of the results of this research can be a basis for related institutions to improve and optimize employees in managing incoming mail according to operational guidelines and standards for mail procedures. After concluding, the author found that the Events Subdivision of the Public Relations and Protocol Bureau of the Regional Secretariat of South Sumatra Province had used standard operational procedures well, this was proven by indicators from the Linggapan theory.
