Rice is a primary commodity in Indonesia, serving as both a staple food and a primary source of livelihood for farmers. Strengthening farmer groups has become a key strategy to enhance farmers' welfare. This study aims to: 1) analyze the role of farmer groups in improving the income of rice farmers in Sumber Suko Village, 2) compare farmers' income before and after joining farmer groups, and 3) examine the relationship between farmer group roles and farmers' income. The survey method was applied, involving 32 rice farmers who are members of farmer groups. Results indicate that the role of farmer groups as providers of production inputs is categorized as "good" (score 11.91), while their roles as learning forums (10.66) and collaboration platforms (9.88) are categorized as "enough". Farmers’ income significantly increased from an average of IDR 7,982,365 to IDR 9,537,708 per planting season after joining the groups. Rank Spearman correlation analysis revealed a positive and significant relationship between the roles of farmer groups and farmers' income (Sig.(2-tailed) 0.000). Farmer groups in Sumber Suko Village routinely provide subsidized fertilizers and agricultural tools and conduct educational activities. However, low farmer participation remains a challenge, particularly in maximizing their roles as learning forums and collaboration platforms. Enhancing farmer participation is essential to optimize benefits.
