PEMBUATAN KOMPOSIT MENGGUNAKAN MATRIK RESIN POLYESTER DENGAN FILLER PARTIKEL KACA DAN PASIR SILIKA
This study aimed to determine the mechanical properties and physical properties of composUes which reinforced by polyester resin glass and sand particles. Mechanical and physical properties observed were tensile strength , tensile strain, modulus of elasticity, impact and density energy. The properties can be obtained f r om tensile testing , impact testing and density testing . Types ofpolyester resins used is Yukalac 157 BON , while the ftller soda lime glass and silica sand are ground up into fine granules . Specimens were made and printed by hand lay -up method then tested with Standard tesi for tensile ASTM D - 639 M, impact JIS Z 2202, and density ASTM D 792. Variation of the volume used was 90 % resin 5 % glass 5 % sand, 80 % resin 10% glass 10 % sand, 70 % resin 15 % glass 15 % sand and 60 % resin 20 % glass 20 % sand. The optimum results obtained from the variation of the volume fraction of 60 % resin 20 % glass 20 % sand. The value amounted was tensile stress at 47.05 N/mm2, tensile strain a 114.24 %. the value of the modulus elasticity 3.30 N/mm2, the value of impact a10.0607 J/mm2. and the values of density 1.549 gr/mm3 .
