This study aims to analyze the level of regional competitiveness and to examine the impact of economic growth and the human development index on economic competitiveness in the regencies/cities of West Sumatra Province. The data used in this study are panel data from 19 regencies/cities in West Sumatra Province over the 2015-2022 period. The analysis technique in this study uses competitiveness score calculations with standard deviation and applies the panel data regression analysis method. The results showed that the highest competitiveness rankings are dominated by regions with the largest contribution from the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sectors. The top five rankings in West Sumatra Province are Mentawai Islands Regency, Padang Panjang City, West Pasaman Regency, Padang Pariaman Regency, and Bukittinggi City. The results of the panel data regression analysis showed that the economic growth variable has a negative direction but significantly affects on economic competitiveness. Meanwhile, the human development index variable has a negative direction but does not have a significant impact on economic competitiveness.
