The incidence of pneumonia in toddlers in Palembang continues to increase every year which is influenced by environmental factors, namely climatology. This study aims to analyze the effect of climatology on the incidence of pneumonia in toddlers in Palembang per month from 2019 to 2023. This study is a quantitative study with an ecological study design, using monthly data trends obtained from the Palembang City Health Office and BMKG from 2019 to 2023, totaling 60 samples. Data were analyzed using univariate analysis, bivariate analysis (Spearmans's Rank Correlation Coefficient Test and Pearson Correlation Test) and multivariate analysis (Multiple Linear Regression). The results of the bivariate test showed that air temperature (p = 0.117), humidity (p = 0.216), rainfall (p = 0.343), and wind speed (p = 0.579) did not have a significant effect on the incidence of pneumonia in toddlers in Palembang in 2019-2023. The results of multiple linear regression show a correlation coefficient (r) = 0.395 and a determination coefficient value (R2) = 0.156, which means that temperature and humidity have a positive effect of 15.6% on cases of pneumonia in toddlers in Palembang in 2019-2023. In theory, the results of the study show that increasing temperature and humidity can reduce the incidence of pneumonia, although pathogens continue to multiply and affect the immune system of toddlers. Therefore, maintaining environmental conditions is important to prevent pneumonia infections in toddlers. Suggestions to the Health Office to carry out routine monitoring to improve surveillance of pneumonia cases in toddlers and to BMKG also to carry out periodic monitoring of local climate conditions (temperature and humidity), for further researchers it is hoped that they will consider other variables that may affect the incidence of pneumonia so that it can be more comprehensive and optimal.
