This study aims to determine the perception of the Batak people towards the Mangain traditional procession in mixed marriages of different tribes in Palembang city. This study uses a qualitative approach of descriptive methods. The sampling technique used in this study is purposive sampling with 6 informants. The data collection techniques used are documentation, interview, and observation techniques. The data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The results of this study show that the perception of the Batak people towards the Mangain traditional procession in mixed marriages of different tribes in Palembang city has a good acceptance of different ethnic couples and a deep understanding of the Mangain traditional procession, and has a positive assessment because it maintains cultural identity and kinship relations overseas. Despite the challenges faced with cultural differences and implementation costs, this procession is still carried out and accepted by both the Batak community and non-Batak people as a form of respect for tradition.
