The research titled “Corpus-based Sentiment Analysis on the News Coverage of Gregoria’s Giveaway Medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics” aims to analyze public views and perceptions regarding the news coverage. The research employs a mixed-methods approach by combining corpus linguistic analysis using three main indicators-frequency, collocation, and concordance-along with sentiment analysis to identify positive, neutral, and negative sentiments. The data were collected from 165 news articles published across various Indonesian online news portals between August 11 – 17, 2024, with a total of 61.329 words analyzed. The results of the corpus linguistic analysis revealed 4.963 words with positive or neutral sentiment and 811 words with negative sentiment. The sentiment analysis aligns with the findings from the corpus linguistic analysis, indicating that the overall sentiment in the news coverage is positive, highlighting appreciation for Gregoria’s efforts.
