PERAN AIESEC IN UNSRI DALAM PENGIMPLEMENTASIAN SDGs 4 DAN 8 DI TENGAH WABAH COVID-19 MELALUI KEGIATAN LOCAL PROJECT TAHUN 2022
Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) operating in the global arena represent a dynamic movement that acts as agents of change outside of government control. As one of the NGO representatives, AIESEC in Unsri is committed to supporting the attainment of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly points 4 and 8, amidst the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. The organization achieves this objective through its flagship program, Local Project 2022. Qualitative research methodology was employed to gather data through interviews, observations, and documentation of project implementation. Using David Lewis and Nazneen Kanji's concept of the role of NGOs, it was established that AIESEC in Unsri plays a role in implementing SDGs 4 and 8 through Local Project activities in 2022 across three dimensions: catalyst, implementer, and partner. As a catalyst, AIESEC in Unsri prepares young people to become agents of change through its membership system. As an implementer, Local Project 2022 provides a platform for young people to learn more about and directly contribute to society regarding the SDGs. As a partner, AIESEC in Unsri is open to collaborating with external parties that share its vision and mission, facilitating operational activities and the implementation of various programs that have a positive impact on its members and the communities around South Sumatra.
