ABSTRAK Penelitian ini menganalisis representasi beauty privilege dalam film 200 Pounds Beauty versi Indonesia yang telah diadaptasi ke dalam konteks budaya Indonesia. Dengan menggunakan teori Roland Barthes, penelitian ini memeriksa bagaimana konsep kecantikan menjadi suatu keistimewaan dipresentasikan dalam konteks sosial dan budaya Indonesia melalui dialog dan visual dalam film tersebut. Data diperoleh dari hasil observasi, dokumentasi, dan studi kepustakaan dengan menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif. Melalui tinjauan mendalam terhadap dialog dan penggambaran karakter, penelitian ini mengeksplorasi bagaimana gagasan kecantikan yang ideal dipromosikan, serta dampaknya terhadap pemahaman masyarakat tentang nilai-nilai kecantikan. Hasil penelitian ini memperlihatkan betapa fenomena beauty privilege ini benar adanya dan sudah mengakar dalam masyarakat Indonesia sehingga sulit untuk dihilangkan. Melalui film 200 Pounds Beauty versi Indonesia ini, beauty privilege direpresentasikan lewat sikap atau tindakan seseorang kepada orang lain. Film ini memperlihatkan sosok perempuan yang dianggap cantik ialah perempuan yang memiliki tubuh langsing, pipi tirus, hidung mancung, dan berambut panjang. Dimana pada sebuah film yang tujuannya memang untuk mempengaruhi, memberikan informasi, dan sebagainya kepada khalayak. Maka film yang berisikan pesan, juga bisa memengaruhi pola pikir penontonnya. Kata Kunci: Representasi, Beauty Privilege, Film 200 Pounds Beauty versi Indonesia ABSTRACT This study analyzes the representation of beauty privilege in the Indonesian version of the 200 Pounds Beauty film which has been adapted into the Indonesian cultural context. Using Roland Barthes' theory, this study examines how the concept of beauty becomes a privilege presented in the social and cultural context of Indonesia through dialogue and visuals in the film. Data are obtained from observation, documentation, and literature studies using qualitative research methods. Through an in-depth review of dialogue and character portrayal, the study explores how the idea of ideal beauty is promoted, as well as its impact on society's understanding of beauty values. The results of this study show how the phenomenon of beauty privilege is true and has taken root in Indonesian society so that it is difficult to eliminate. Through the Indonesian version of the 200 Pounds Beauty film, beauty privilege is represented through one's attitude or actions to others. This film shows a female figure who is considered beautiful is a woman who has a slim body, tapered cheeks, high nose, and long hair. Where in a film whose purpose is to influence, provide information, and so on to the audience. So a film that contains a message, can also affect the mindset of the audience.
