Work time scheduling is very important component in the education. Education requires good management information systems, especially respecting work time scheduling using web based programming. Problem on the work time in Mechanical Engineering Department Sriwijaya University, i.e. lecture schedule is not using web based information system, so it’s still difficult to access by lecturers and students. Therefore requires an application which regulate work time management in order to facilitate to access the lecture schedule information. The research using literature review and field research. Literature review to get an idea of what other have done, and field research to date identification in the lectures. Making the system uses PHP Programming language with a MySQL database. The lecture schedule information system developed web based so lecturers and students can access the lecture schedule information in Mechanical Engineering Department Sriwijaya University easily. The results of the research system have been made that students can directly see the lecture schedule by internet access. Login access right only for admin and lecturers. Admin’s login access right used to arrange lecture schedule and monitoring absent of lecturers. Lecturers access right used to fiil the absent presence. The conclusion that got from this research are by this information system, expected can improve the quality of education in Mechanical Engineering Department Sriwijaya University especially respecting web based lecture schedule.
