PT Medco E&P Indonesia at Singa Field produces approximately 40 mmscfd of natural gas power plants for sale purposes. Composition of natural gas Singa Field is dominated by methane gas with impurities such as hydrogen sulfide gas (FLS) and carbon dioxide (CO2) to be derived gases sold presentations that meet desired specifications. The content of CO2 and H2S in the feed gas respectively by 38.41% and a volume of 350 ppmv, and then lowered to 4% by volume and 4ppmv. So the Processing is done before the gas sold in advance to reduce the content of H2S and CO2. The processing is called a gas sweetening process, the process is performed at a Central processing plant (CPP). Thermal Oxidizer (TOx) is part of the CPP facility used in the combustion of waste gases from being emitted into the environment. Waste gases from the gas sweetening process consist of acid gas and permeate. Combustion reaction that occurs in TOx is perfect combustion reaction with a high temperature of approximately 1,600 °F. TOx has a threshold value for the upper and lower temperature. If the temperature reaches 1,800 °F, then the system will automatically shut down. So to keep the temperature is its normal condition, quench air required to cool the flue gas. The TOx system in CPP lion, the quench air flowrate transmitter is not available, so the author makes the formulation of quench air calculations by made the modeling of TOx based on theoretical approaches. TOx theoretical modeling is done by entering the daily input data, based on this modeling the combustion temperature achieved in the area ranged from 1,768.99- 2,469.152 °F. With an average value requirements for quench air 14,269.4 lb / hr. Then the simulation calculations for quench air needs made in the conditions of high high and obtained optimum in 19,094 Ib/hr. The calculation formula can be integrated into the digital control system to be used as flowrate theoretical transmitter for TOx.
