The study identifies a problem of community resistance due to dissatisfaction with the inconsistency of regulations and changes in the community environment, primarily caused by illegal mining. The aim of this research is to investigate the root causes of the resistance by the community and to identify the various forms of resistance carried out by the Embacang Lama village community. The method used in this research is qualitative, employing a case study strategy. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, literature review, and documentation. The findings of this research reveal that the resistance by the Embacang Lama village community is triggered by several factors, including concerns about river water pollution, skin diseases caused by contaminated river water due to illegal mining, and government neglect of environmental health aspects.
