This thesis is entitled "Mining Conflict Between the Community and PT Bukit Bara Alam (PT BBA) in Arahan Village, Merapi Timur Subdistrict, Lahat Regency". The focus of this research is to examine the roots of the conflict based on its forms and the conflict resolution process that occurs. The aim of this research is to understand and analyze the Mining Conflict Between the Community and PT Bukit Bara Alam (PT BBA) in Arahan Village, Merapi Timur Subdistrict, Lahat Regency. The method used in this research is qualitative method with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, literature review, and documentation study. This research is analyzed using conflict theory from Lewis A Coser and concepts from Nasikun. The results of this study reveal that the conflict stems from dust problems caused by the process of transporting mining materials and the dry season, as well as the disappointment of the community due to the lack of response from PT BBA which eventually led to demonstrations. This conflict reflects the theory used by Lewis A Coser regarding realistic and non-realistic aspects. The conflict originated from widespread disappointment and involved the entire community affected by dust during the dry season, followed by the company's delayed response, no follow-up to mediation demands, and the desire to capitalize on opportunities arising from the conflict. Resolution is achieved through negotiation between both parties by seeking a middle ground for reconciliation. The final agreement includes dust reduction, consistent watering in dust-prone areas, and compensation for households affected by dust. Keywords: conflict, mining, community, demonstration.
