Health behavior is any form of activity or effort that can be observed or not observed related to the process of maintaining, improving, healing from all kinds of diseases, both medical and non-medical. In this study, alternative medicine ruqyah is a form of health behavior itself as part of efforts to cure disease and efforts to maintain individual health. The purpose of this study was to determine the background of patients choosing alternative treatment ruqyah at Pondok Fadhillah, Pagar Agung Village, Lahat City besides it is also to find out the healthy behavior and sick behavior of ruqyah alternative medicine patients at Pondok Fadhillah, Pagar Agung Village, Lahat City. The method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative research method with a phenomenological research strategy. The theory used is the theory of Lawrence Green. The results of this study indicate that there are three main factors for individuals choosing alternative ruyah treatment, namely the first predisposing factor, namely individual knowledge about ruqyah treatment, beliefs and religion as well as perceptions of medical services. namely social support and positive experiences.
