This research raised the title "Interpersonal Communication of Counseling Guidance Teachers (BK) in Increasing Student Learning Motivation (Study on Class VIII Students of SMP N 6 OKU South Sumatra)", schools have an important role in increasing student learning motivation both in academic and non-academic fields, therefore schools form a counseling guidance section to assist students in increasing motivation. Based on the formulation of the problem, namely how interpersonal communication of BK teachers in increasing the learning motivation of grade VIII students of SMP N 6 OKU South Sumatera? With the aim of knowing the interpersonal communication process of BK teachers in increasing the learning motivation of grade VIII students of SMP N 6 OKU South Sumatra, this type of research is qualitative descriptive research. The use of Joseph A. DeVito's theory of interpersonal communication is used to help complete the research that has been done. The results showed that in increasing student learning motivation, BK teachers conduct interpersonal communication directly to students by conducting counseling sessions that aim to provide advice, direction and input for students. BK teachers help students deal with problems, respect different student opinions, provide constructive motivation, and provide full trust and support for positive activities that students do.
