This research was implemented to test the work efficiency of a sliding blade chopper on variations in the slicing work mechanism, namely the difference in rotating moment load and the amount of material feed (inlet) in the sliding type cassava slicing process. This research has taken place from January to July 2024 at the Laboratory of Agricultural Machinery and Workshop at the Department of Agricultural Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University Indralaya. A detailed description of the information or data obtained from the research results is using the descriptive method to explain the causal relationship of the treatment of the rotating moment load and the amount of material feeding to the capacity and work efficiency in the process of chopping into raw material for chips. Data observation is based on testing a combination of treatment levels of three replicates to obtain a representative data set with thorough results. The application of 11 kg rotary moment load (M2) under the condition of knife speed of 1.19 m/s or 95 rpm resulted in higher capacity and work efficiency of 140.11 g/30s and 82%, respectively, compared to the 7 kg rotary moment load (M1) under the condition of knife speed of 1.36 m/s or 108 rpm of 129.02 g/30s and 79%, respectively. This difference is due to the addition of a load of 7 kg to 11 kg causing a decrease in cutting speed, but the M2 treatment produces a heavier weight of slices per keeping, namely 2.08 g. Material feeding with a total of 2 inlets (F2) produces a work efficiency of 84%, which is greater than the feeding of 1 inlet (F1) which is 77%, but the work capacity of F2 is greater than F1 which is 188.69 g/30s and 94.35 g/30s respectively. the difference in efficiency is due to the number of turns during 30 seconds slicing in F2 which is 44 times smaller than F1 which is 47 turns, but the efficiency of F2 is greater than F1. This is because the number of inlets is more than one with the weight of the chips produced heavier. The addition of the number of feeds to 2 inlets increases the friction force and penetration of the blade against the material which will be able to reduce the rotation of the chip weight per keeping greater, so that at the same time the efficiency and work capacity produced higher.
