REPRESENTASI OKULTISME DALAM FILM HOROR INDONESIA (Analisis Semiotika Roland Barthes Film Sewu Dino: The Movie)
The research conducted was a representation of the occult in a horror genre film entitled Sewu Dino. In society often believing in the supernatural and following it, belief in God is fading as society rapidly proves the powers of the jinn or so-called occult. The purpose of this study is to find out the representation of the occult in the Indonesian horror film, Sewu Dino. Data were obtained from film scene footage and documentation using qualitative research methods with Roland Barthes' Semiotics analysis which has three pillars of sign meaning, namely desonation, connotation and myth. The results of this study show that the pattern that appears in this film uses occult beliefs that are common in society such as believing in objects and every creature has a life that can disturb or give good things. The film also focuses on the occult practices of the western world commonly referred to as the Western Esoteric Tradition which is the study of hidden knowledge.
