The romance system is a feature commonly found in RPG games, allowing players to form romantic relationships with in-game characters. However, the extent and nature of the impact of this system on players remain uncertain, as does its value as an addition to RPG games. Therefore, the researcher selected Baldur's Gate 3, a recently released game in 2023 with a romance system, for this study. This RPG game has gained popularity and won numerous awards. For the research on the romance system, the researcher used the Game Experience Questionnaire (GEQ) method. With variables such as the Core Module and Post-Game Module, which explore players' feelings during and after playing the game, this method is suitable for examining the effects of the romance system on Baldur's Gate 3 players. The results of this study indicate that the romance system has a positive influence and provides a good experience for players, suggesting that this system could be considered for inclusion in other RPG-themed games.
