PENGARUH KEPATUHAN PASIEN DIABETES MELLITUS TIPE 2 TERHADAP NILAI HbA1C DI RSI SITI KHADIJAH PALEMBANG
Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a chronic metabolic disease with a high prevalence that requires HbA1c control as an indicator of blood glucose stability, where patient adherence plays a crucial role in its management. This study aimed to identify the effect of patient adherence on HbA1c levels at RSI Siti Khadijah Palembang. It was an analytical observational study conducted prospectively using a cross-sectional design and accidental sampling method. The study involved 32 T2DM patients divided into two groups: one receiving education with assistance and the other receiving education without assistance. Patient adherence was assessed using the Morisky Medication Adherence Scale-8 (MMAS-8) questionnaire. Data analysis using the paired t-test revealed a p-value of 0.004, indicating that patient adherence significantly influences the reduction of HbA1c levels in T2DM patients.
