This study aims to discuss the participation of the Cultural Heritage Friends Community (SCB) as an activist in education and conservation of cultural heritage in Palembang City. Participation is an activity or participation or role of a group of people or society. The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze the importance of participation of the Cultural Heritage Friends Community as an activist of education and conservation of cultural heritage in the city of Palembang. The research method used is a qualitative method with a qualitative descriptive strategy. This study uses the theory of Participation from Ach. Vizier Ws. Data were obtained with four primary informants and two supporting informants through observation, interviews, documentation, and literature study. The results of this study show that the implementation of participation carried out by the cultural heritage friends community (scb) in the city of Palembang is carried out actively with forms of participation of the scb community as activists of education and conservation of cultural heritage in every activity in the form of participation conscious of money or donation funds for activities, in the form of ideas or thoughts from members, volunteers and the general public and energy and mutual assistance. Factors that encourage the cultural heritage friends community (scb) to participate in education and conservation of cultural heritage in the city of Palembang such as enthusiasm and teamwork. While the inhibiting factors are activity funds and time management as well as a lack of public awareness of culture and cultural heritage in Palembang.
