DINAMIKA CELEBRITY WORSHIP PADA PENGGEMAR K-POP
This study aims to determine the dynamics of celebrity worship among K-pop fans. This study employed qualitative research method. The subjects in this study were taken by purposive sampling of three peoples. The subjects criteria include female K-pop fans, aged between 20-25 years, actively seeking information about idols, participating in fanbases or K-pop communities, having a collection or items related to idols, attending idol-related events at least once in the past year, spending at least one million during their time as K-popers, and having been K-popers for at least two years. The findings indicate that celebrity worship among K-pop fans is predominantly influenced by entertainment social and intense personal feeling aspects, where idols serve as sources of entertainment, social interaction, and deep emotional connection. Additionally, behaviors associated with the borderline pathological aspect were identified among the subjects, such as egocentric tendencies, lack of empathy, impulsive actions, and excessive spending on idol-related activities exceeding five million during their fandom. Furthermore, several factors affecting the level of celebrity worship include family support, especially from parents, physical attractiveness of idols, and their talents, such as dance movements and choreography. Consequently, activities like attending concerts and purchasing merchandise have become integral part of fans live. Currently, all three subjects remain actively and show no intention of ceasing these activities.
