Located on the equator and part of the maritime territory of Indonesia, Java Island is very vulnerable to the impacts of climate change based on the occurrence of the El Niño Southern Oscillation (ENSO) and Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD) phenomena. To analyze the level of extreme rainfall on the influence of ENSO and IOD in Central Java Province can be done by involving the RClimDex software. The data used in this study are annual rainfall data, maximum temperature, minimum temperature, and average temperature obtained from three BMKG meteorological stations in Central Java Province, namely the Tunggul Wulung Meteorological Station, Tanjung Emas Meteorological Station, and Tegal Maritime Station for the period 1983 to 2024. Extreme climate indices defined by the Expert Team for Climate Change Detection and Index (ETCCDI) will be used in this study. RclimDex software is used to determine these indices. This study uses quantitative methods with secondary data analysis that apply techniques from the Expert Team in climate change Detection and Indicators (ETCCDI). The results of the study found that the southern part of Central Java Island experienced a decrease in rainfall which caused drought, and the south part of Central Java Island experienced an increase in rainfall which caused flooding. The relationship between climate phenomena and extreme rainfall events is that El Niño and IOD contribute to the rise in days without rain (CDD) with a very high level of significance and a decrease in days with rain (CWD), which affects the total annual rainfall (PRCPTOT). This study provides important insights for understanding climate variability in Central Java Province.
