AKTIVITAS ANTIOKSIDAN FRAKSI DAUN PEPAYA (Carica papaya L.), DAUN PELAWAN (Tristaniopsis merguensis L.) DAN DAUN MELINJO (Gnetum gnemon L.) DENGAN METODE DPPH
The use of antioxidants can prevent oxidative stress conditions, which cause tissue damage, due to too many free radicals in the body. The body produces antioxidant compounds such as SOD (Superoxide Dismutase), Gpx (Glutathione peroxidase), and catalase to protect the endothelium of blood vessels from free radical attacks, which reduce oxidative stress. This study aims to evaluate the antioxidant activity of active fractions of papaya leaves, pelawan leaves, and melinjo leaves using the DPPH method. The method used in extraction is maceration, in fractionation using liquid-liquid partition and DPPH to test its antioxidant activity. The results showed that pelawan leaves had the highest total flavonoid content (254.25 mg QE/g) and the highest total phenolic content (223.23 mg GAE/g) with IC₅₀ 11.41 µg/ml, melinjo leaves showed moderate flavonoid and phenolic content of the three samples (179.03 mg QE/g and 184.78 mg GAE/g) with IC₅₀ 17.51 µg/ml and papaya leaves had the weakest content, namely flavonoids 86.42 mg QE/g and phenolics 75.72 mg QE/g and IC₅₀ (85.49 µg/ml). It can be concluded that the fraction of pelawan leaves with ethanol, n-hexane and ethyl acetate solvents has the potential to be the best antioxidant.
