PENGARUH LAMA RENDAM DENGAN SUHU 60C TERHADAP PERKECAMBAHAN BENIH SENGON (Falcataria moluccana) PADA MEDIA TANAH
The research aimed to determine the most effective soaking duration for the germination of silk seeds (Falcataria moluccana) using hot water at an initial temperature of 60oc. The research was conducted at the Forest Plant Seed Center Region I in Palembang. This study was conducted using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD), consisting of 6 treatments and 4 replication, with each experimental unit containing 20 seeds, resulting in total of 480 seeds. The treatments consisted of P1: Soaking for 2 hours P2: Soaking for 4 hours P3: Soaking for 6 Hours P4: Soaking for 8 hours P5: Immersion for 10 Hours P6: Immersion for 12 hours. each treatment was conducted with an initial water temperature of 60oc and allowed to cool naturally. The variables observed were: germination, growth uniformity, growth speed, fresh weight of sprouts, dry weight of sprouts, crown dry weight, root dry weight, crown/root ratio, seedling stem height and radicle length. The results showed that soaking of silk seed germination gave significant results on sprout dry weight, crown dry weight and seedling stem height. The regression results indicate that the optimal soaking times for achieving the best results are 8.5 hours for the dry weight of the seedlings, 9 hours for the dry weight of the shoots, and 8.6 hours for the seedling height. Based on the research conducted, it is recommended to use a soaking time of 8 to 10 hours as the optimal treatment for enhancing the germination of silk seeds.
