KAJI EKSPERIMENTAL PENGARUH PANJANG SUDU TERHADAP DAYA DAN EFISIENSI PADA TURBIN TURGO SKALA PIKO
This study investigates the effect of blade length on the efficiency and power output of a pico-scale Turgo turbine to address a significant gap in the existing literature regarding the optimal runner to nozzle diameter ratio (D/d), to determine the optimum conditions on each blade, this study uses D/L by maintaining a blade spacing of 6.5 mm then D/d has a blade count of 24. The method used is experimental with blade length variations of 3 cm, 4 cm, and 5 cm with a height of 3 meters and a water flow rate of 2 liters per minute. The results show a linear relationship between power output and blade diamter with the maximum power generated by the 3 cm blade reaching 7.1 Watt, while the 4 cm blade reaches its peak at 9.2 Watt and the 5 cm blade 4.9 Watt. The results of the efficiency using parabolic relationship reached its peak at 4 cm blade length, with a maximum efficiency of 8.4%. Meanwhile, blade lengths of 3 cm and 5 cm produced efficiencies of 6.1% and 5.1%, respectively. A blade diameter to nozzle diameter ratio combination of 6.5/24 is also recommended to achieve optimal efficiency. The conclusion of this study is that the blade length has a significant influence on the performance of the pico-scale Turgo turbine, where the optimal blade length can increase the efficiency and output power of the turbine.
