MAKNA "CONSENT" DALAM HUBUNGAN BERPACARAN BAGI MAHASISWA UNIVERSITAS SRIWIJAYA
The research entitled The Meaning of Consent in Dating Relationships for Sriwijaya University Students aims to find out how the understanding of the meaning of consent and the motives for implementing consent for Sriwijaya University students is based on the perspective and experience of the dating relationship they are currently in. The research method uses descriptive qualitative with a phenomenological research strategy. This research uses phenomenological theory by Alfred Schutz. Data was obtained through a process of observation, interviews and documentation which was then analyzed using the Creswell method. The research results show that students' motives for applying consent in their dating relationships are divided into two, namely in order to motives and because motives. The in order to motives for implementing consent for Sriwijaya University students are (1) a source of happiness and comfort, (2) strengthening the quality of relationships, and (3) taking care of oneself. The because motives for implementing consent for Sriwijaya University students are (1) the influence of past trauma, (2) the influence of the social environment, and (3) the influence of previous relationships. Meanwhile, the meaning of consent is based on students' understanding, namely (1) consent as a boundary, (2) consent as a form of respect for a partner, and (3) consent as a efforts to prevent acts of sexual harassment.
