This research aims to: 1) describe the need for developing a project based learning model containing local wisdom and ecoliteracy in learning to write short stories; 2) describe the design of a project based learning model containing local wisdom and ecoliteracy in learning to write short stories; and 3) describe the feasibility of a project based learning model containing local wisdom and ecoliteracy in learning to write short stories. This research method is research and development using a modified development model, namely a combination of Borg and Gall with Dick and Carey. This research data is qualitative through interview techniques and quantitative through questionnaire techniques. The learning model was developed based on an analysis of the needs of class XI students and Indonesian language teachers at SMA Negeri 16 Palembang. The results of the learning model design include learning structure (syntax), reaction principles, social systems, support systems, as well as instructional and accompanying impacts. The validation test was carried out by experts consisting of material, media and language experts. The validation percentage results are 98.68% material, 100% media, and 95.45% language. Based on the validation results, the project based learning model containing local wisdom and ecoliteracy in learning to write short stories in class XI at SMA Negeri 16 Palembang was declared very suitable for use.
