PERANCANGAN DAN SIMULASI MESIN DIGESTER PENGOLAH BUAH KELAPA SAWIT KAPASITAS 1 TON
The palm oil processing involves several stages, one of which is the separation of fibers and seeds from the fruit. In this process, a digester machine, utilizing high temperatures, softens the palm fruit to facilitate the pulping of its flesh. Various studies have shown that the rotational speed of the agitator blade and the dimensions of the digester machine significantly affect the efficiency of the separation process. Therefore, this study aims to design a small-scale digester machine with a capacity of 1 ton/hour using SolidWorks software. Simulation results indicate that the use of AISI 316 material for the machine frame provides better results compared to AISI 1045. This is evident from the lower Von mises Stress value, smaller deformation, and higher safety factor of the AISI 316 material. Further analysis of other components, such as the chopping blade and screening plate, shows that alloy steel is a more suitable material choice. The chopping blade made of alloy steel has higher Von mises Stress and deformation values but remains within safe limits. This indicates that alloy steel has sufficient strength to chop palm seeds. Meanwhile, the screening plate, also made of alloy steel, shows similar results, with fairly large Von mises Stress and deformation values but still safe. The use of AISI 316 for the machine frame and alloy steel for the chopping blade and screening plate is expected to improve the efficiency and durability of the digester machine in the palm oil processing process.
