This thesis discusson French cultural diplomacy in Indonesia through the lens of the Semaine de la Francophonie 2023 event. In an era where cultural exchange plays an important role in international relations, this research seeks to investigate how France utilizes this event to strengthen diplomatic relations, foster cultural understanding, and promote the French culture and language in Indonesia. The research begins with a general discussion of the historical evolution of Semaine de La Francophonie and its relevance in French cultural diplomacy. The method of this research is in-depth interviews where the researcher conducts interviews with people who are considered important to this event and participants who are the subject of the research. The results of this study show that French cultural diplomacy in Indonesia is effective when conducted to participants who have not been exposed to French culture at all, and this success is inseparable from the French government who has provided financial support, logistical assistance, and active participation in the event. And through this event, a mutual understanding occurs, where the participants and organizers of this event become a means of mutual appreciation, and respect for each other.
