KESANTUNAN BERBAHASA DALAM INTERAKSI BELAJAR MENGAJAR DI KELAS X SMA SRIJAYA NEGARA DAN IMPLIKASINYA DALAM PEMBELAJARAN BAHASA
This study aims to describe (1) the forms of politeness in the language used during teaching and learning interactions in Grade X at SMA Srijaya Negara and (2) the implications of this research in Indonesian language learning interactions. The research method employed in this study is a qualitative descriptive method. The data and sources of data include the utterances of teachers and students involved in teaching and learning interactions in Grade X at SMA Srijaya Negara. Data collection was conducted using observation techniques, listening techniques, note-taking techniques, and recording techniques. The steps in data analysis are as follows: (1) identifying the data and selecting which are categorized as polite language, (2) interpreting the language, (3) classifying the data based on adherence to or violations of politeness principles according to Leech's theory, and (4) concluding. Based on the findings, 90 utterances were identified, comprising 65 instances of adherence and 25 violations of politeness principles. These instances of politeness include (1) the maxim of tact, (2) the maxim of generosity, (3) the maxim of approbation, (4) the maxim of modesty, (5) the maxim of agreement, and (6) the maxim of sympathy. This study has implications for the teaching of the Indonesian language in Grade X, particularly in learning negotiation texts under competency standard KD 4.11. The data from this research can be used as teaching materials in the learning process.
