PERTUMBUHAN DAN HASIL BAYAM BRAZIL (ALTERNANTHERA SISSOO) PADA PERBEDAAN BAHAN TANAM DAN JARAK TANAM
Brazilian spinach (Althernanthera sissoo) is an annual leaf vegetable originating from Brazil. Infertile Brazilian spinach seeds make cultivation an effective choice through cuttings. Cuttings need nutrients, sunlight, water, and growing space to support the plant so that it can grow optimally. Efforts to reduce competition in the absorption of nutrients, sunlight and water are by adjusting plant spacing. This research aims to determine the growth and yield of Brazilian spinach on differences in planting materials and planting distances. The research method used was a Randomized Block Design (RBD) which consisted of 2 factors. The first factor is the difference in planting material consisting of stem cuttings (S1) and shoot cuttings (S2). Meanwhile, the second factor is the planting distance, which consists of a planting distance of 20 cm x 30 cm (J1), 30 cm x 30 cm (J2), and 40 cm x 30 cm (J3). From the two factors, 6 treatment combinations were obtained. Each treatment combination consisted of 3 (three) replications, and each replication consists of 3 plants. The total of all plants observed was 54 plants. The data obtained from the research results were analyzed using the Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) method. Next, to find out the best treatment, use the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test with a level of 5%. The research results show that the recommended planting material to obtain optimal results in Brazilian spinach is stem cuttings (S1). In the hypothesis, it is assumed that a planting distance of 30 cm x 30 cm (J2) is the best planting distance. However, the results of this research show that the best planting distance for the yield and growth of Brazilian spinach is 40 cm x 30 cm (J3).
