GANGGUAN TIDUR PADA REMAJA OBESITAS DAN FAKTOR-FAKTOR YANG MEMENGARUHINYA
Adolescents require an ideal sleep duration of 8–10 hours per night, but this need is often unmet, leading to sleep disturbances. Studies in Jakarta and Medan reported prevalence rates of sleep disturbances at 62.9% and 37.85%, respectively, while globally in China, the rate reached 26%. Sleep disturbances are often influenced by unhealthy lifestyles, including obesity. In Medan, 76% of obese adolescents had poor sleep quality, while in Manado, 86.7% experienced sleep disturbances. The Sleep Disturbances Scale for Children (SDSC), with high diagnostic accuracy (AUC = 0.91), sensitivity of 0.89, and specificity of 0.74, was validated as a reliable screening tool for sleep disturbances. This study is an analytical observational study with a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 132 students from SMA Negeri 3 Palembang and SMA Negeri 17 Palembang who were randomized and met inclusion and exclusion criteria. The study was conducted from October to November 2024. Data were collected through direct measurements and SDSC questionnaires and analyzed using SPSS. The study found that 97 respondents (73.5%) experienced sleep disturbances, with the majority having difficulty initiating and maintaining sleep (27.7%). Most respondents were 16 years and 3 months old, and the majority were female (56.8%). There was no significant relationship between sleep disturbances and obesity. The only factor significantly associated with sleep disturbances was the frequency of caffeine consumption (p = 0.024).
