Population growth in urban areas must be followed by dequate food security. The use of shade is one of the efforts to create suitable environmental conditions for the cultivation of vegetable plants. This study aims to determine the growth response and yield of Romaine lettuce, Grand Rapisd lettuce, and Siomak lettuce in moderate intensity light. This research was carried out in Jakabaring, Palembang City, South Sumatra Province, from June to July 2024. This research was conducted using the Group Random Design (GRD) method. A variety of lettuce types was established as a treatment consisting of Romaine lettuce (S1), Grand Rapids lettuce (S2) and Siomak lettuce (S3) at moderate intensity light. Each treatment was repeated 4 (four) times, where each experimental unit had 5 (five) plants. Thus, a total of 60 plants were observed. The data obtained from the results of the study will then be analyzed using the Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) method. Furthermore, to find out the best treatment, it is determined using the Smallest Real Difference (BNT) test with a test level of 5%. Research shows that the growth advantages of each variety are in certain parameters even though they are in the same shade conditions. Romaine treatment lettuce varier (S1) is a lettuce that adapts to moderate light intensity. This can be seen from the superior growth in the number of leaves, canopy area, leaf greenness level, fresh weight and dry weight of roots, stems, leaves. Treatment (S2) is superior in leaf width, but it is more common among the community and treatment (S3) is superior in leaf length, canopy length, canopy width and plant length. These results also indicate that genetic differences between treatments affect the growth characteristics of each treatment.
