The purpose of this research is to understand the meaning of the value of patriotism in the movie Gundala (2019) by Joko Anwar through the perspectives of the audience with diverse backgrounds and positions. The study used qualitative methods and reception analysis methods. Data collection methods include documentation studies and in-depth interviews with informants who meet predetermined criteria. The research concludes that the informants, as part of the younger generation, could comprehend the meaning of patriotism and feel a strong motivation to practice patriotic values after watching the film Gundala. When categorizing the informants' responses using Stuart Hall's reception analysis theory, the result shows four informants occupies as dominant position.
