The border conflict between India and China in the Ladakh region, particularly in the Galwan Valley, represents one of the most complex and enduring territorial disputes in the region. The conflict incident in the Galwan Valley in 2020 represented a peak in the tensions that have persisted for decades, resulting in casualties on both sides and further exacerbating the already strained bilateral relations between the two countries. In response to this conflict, the Indian government implemented a smart power strategy, which combines elements of hard power and soft power, to deal with the conflict. This research aims to analyze the smart power strategy implemented by the Government of India in dealing with the territorial dispute with China in Ladakh. This research employs the concept of smart power, which is a combination of hard and soft power that is used effectively to achieve diplomatic and strategic goals. This research employs a qualitative methodology with a descriptive-analytical approach. The data was collected through a review of relevant literature, including books, journals, scientific articles, and other reliable sources. The results demonstrate that India has effectively integrated military capabilities with strategic diplomatic initiatives, encompassing regional and international collaboration. Furthermore, India plays an active role in regional and international platforms, engaging in bilateral diplomacy with China to promote conflict resolution.
