EFIKASI EKSTRAK SERAI WANGI (Cymbopogon nardus L.) UNTUK MENGHAMBAT PERKEMBANGAN PENYAKIT ANTRAKNOSA (Colletotrichum capsici) PADA TANAMAN CABAI (Capsicum annuum L.)
Anthracnose disease caused by the fungus Colletotrichum capsici is an important disease in chili plants, because its damage can cause losses of up to 80% in one crop. Anthracnose disease can attack in the pre- and post-harvest phases, starting from the symptoms of black spots which then spread to the fruit of the plant. Control using vegetable fungicides is still often found which can have harmful effects on humans, the environment and the plants themselves. Citronella extract is an alternative fungicide that is more environmentally friendly. The study aims to determine the effect of citronella extract to inhibit anthracnose disease in chili plants. The research method used was the RGD (Randomized Group Design) method with 6 treatments repeated 5 times. In each replication there were 40 plants with 8 plants per bed. Treatment 1 applied chemical fungicide Propenib 70% as a comparison and treatments 1-5 applied citronella extract. Citronella extract was applied with concentrations of 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%. The results showed that citronella extract had an effect in inhibiting the development of anthracnose disease on chili plants. On the leaves, the most effective consentration in suppressing the intensity of attack was found in treatment 1 (1.25ml/5l), treatment 2 (2.5ml/5l), and treatment 5 (6.25ml/5l). The three consentration were able to reduce the intensity of anthracnose disease attack to 0%. This shows that citronella extract has the potential to effectively control anthracnose disease on chili leaves. Then on the fruit, all concentrations of citronella extract gave results in inhibiting the development of anthracnose disease with an average value of 0%. This indicates that the effect of citronella extract in controlling disease in chili fruit is also effective. Overall, this study proves that citronella extract can be used as an effective alternative control to reduce anthracnose disease attacks on chili plants both on leaves and fruit. This shows the potential of citronella extract in overcoming the problem of anthracnose disease in chili plants to be an environmentally friendly solution to reduce dependence on chemical pesticides
