Feed is a main component to support fish growth. Formulated feed is made up of various ingredients, both animal and plant-based. The plant-based ingredient commonly used as a source of protein in fish feed formulation is soybean meal. However, soybean meal is still imported from abroad. Therefore, there is a need for alternative plant-based ingredients that can be used as a protein source to substitute soybean meal in feed formulations. Indigofera zollingeriana leaves meal has been proven to be able to substitute soybean meal in several types of fish, including giant gourami, clarias catfish, and kissing gourami. This research aimed to determine the best percentage of Indigofera zollingeriana leaves meal as a substitute for soybean meal in feed formulation of climbing perch. This research was conducted at the Basic Fisheries Laboratory, Aquaculture Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sriwijaya. Feed proximate analysis was conducted at the Fish Nutrition Laboratory, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, IPB University. The research was conducted on June-July 2024. This research used a completely randomized design consisting of four treatments and three replications. The treatments given was the combination of soybean meal and Indigofera zollingeriana leaves meal in different percentage in feed formulations of climbing perch, namely 40%:0% (P0), 30%:10% (P1), 20%:20% (P2), 10%:30% (P3). The results showed that the substitution of soybean meal with Indigofera zollingeriana leaves meal by 50% (P2) was the best treatment which resulted in absolute weight growth of 1.77 g, absolute length growth of 1.01 cm, protein efficiency ratio of 1.57, and feed efficiency of 51.76%. However, Indigofera zollingeriana leaves meal was still able to substitute soybean meal up to 75% (P3). Water quality parameters at P2 included temperature 26.6-29.8°C, pH 6.6-7.6, dissolved oxygen 4.4-5.8 mg L-1 and ammonia 0.04-0.10 mg L-1.
