ANALISIS TINGKAT SUSTAINABILITY AWARENESS PESERTA DIDIK SMA NEGERI 1 PALEMBANG DALAM KONTEKS KONTRIBUSI LINGKUNGAN LAHAN BASAH SEBAGAI PENGENDALI PEMANASAN GLOBAL
Global warming has become a major issue affecting various aspects of life, including peatland wetlands, which play both positive and negative roles in global warming but are increasingly deteriorating. This study aims to measure the level of sustainability awareness among students at SMA Negeri 1 Palembang regarding the contribution of wetlands to global warming, based on gender, age, and grade level. The research employs a mixed-method approach, collecting quantitative data through structured questionnaires and qualitative data through semi-open-ended questionnaires and interviews to provide more detailed information for comprehensive analysis. The findings indicate that the sustainability awareness of students at SMA Negeri 1 Palembang in the context of wetlands’ environmental contributions to mitigating global warming is relatively high, with an average score of 3.35 and a percentage of 83.75%. Based on gender, female students scored higher (3.38) compared to male students (3.30). Based on age, 17-year-old students scored the highest (3.56), while 14-year-olds scored the lowest (3.21). Based on grade level, 12th-grade students had the highest scores (3.52), while 10th-grade students scored the lowest (3.18).
