PROFIL KLINIS DAN LABORATORIUM PASIEN SEPSIS DI PEDIATRIC INTENSIVE CARE UNIT RUMAH SAKIT UMUM PUSAT DR. MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG
Sepsis is still one of the leading causes of mortality in children, which is associated with immune immaturity. Early identification of sepsis based on region-specific clinical and laboratory characteristics is expected will be able to reduce mortality. This study was a retrospective descriptive study using a cross-sectional approach. The subjects were patients diagnosed with sepsis in the pediatric intensive care unit of Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Hospital Palembang in May 2022 to May 2024 who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. This study showed that the prevalence of sepsis patients was 28,01%, dominated by males (50,6%), and the majority was in the infant age group (35,4%). Most patients came from outside Palembang City (74,7%), and most parents were entrepreneurs (69,9%). Normal nutritional was predominant (46,8%), and malignancy was the most common comorbidity (24,1%). The physical examination showed that most patients had decreased consciousness, as indicated by GCS
