EVALUASI KESESUAIAN LAHAN UNTUK TANAMAN JAGUNG (Zea mays L.) DI SELA TANAMAN KARET (Hevea brasiliensis) BELUM MENGHASILKAN DI DESA BARU RAMBANG KECAMATAN RAMBANG KABUPATEN MUARA ENIM PROVINSI SUMATERA SELATAN
Rubber plants are an important commodity for Indonesia, but many smallholder rubber plants are old and their productivity is declining. Planting intercrops such as corn can be an attractive alternative because it provides additional income during the rejuvenation period, and increases cost efficiency. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the suitability of land for corn cultivation in between rubber plants that have not yet produced in Baru Rambang Village. The method used in this study was a detailed survey method with a scale of 1:10,000. Annual temperature 27.63°C is included in the S2 class category (quite suitable), Rainfall 2965 mm/year is included in the N category (not suitable), Soil texture has a clayey sand texture included in the S2 land suitability class (quite suitable), Effective depth is included in the S1 land suitability class (very suitable), Soil CEC is classified as moderate into the S1 land suitability class (very suitable), Soil pH 4.08 is very acidic with S3 land suitability (Marginal Suitable), C-organic is very low including in the S3 land suitability class (Not Suitable), N-total is very low including in the S3 land suitability class (Not Suitable), P-available is moderate including in the S2 land suitability class (quite suitable), Potassium is very high with the S1 land suitability class (very suitable). The results of this study indicate that the actual land suitability for corn plants is on average included in the S3 land suitability class (Not Suitable).
