This research aims to determine the socio-economic conditions of casual daily workers and their families and to describe the family strategies of casual daily workers of rubber farmers in meeting family needs in Sukarami Village, Sekayu District, Musi Banyuasin Regency. The research method used is qualitative. Data collection was carried out through a process of observation, in-depth interviews and documentation, then connected to Edi Suharto's survival strategy theory. Of the families of casual daily rubber farming workers are not sufficient for the family’s needs due low selling price of rubber latex, which is an active strategy carried out by the workers, namely looking for side jobs such as gardening vegetables, being a construction worker washing dishes and doing rice fields to get additional incomw for the family, the worker’s family utilizes human resources by inviting family members to help with work, another strategy, namely a passive strategy, is to get used to living frugally by managing finances and spending only according to the need to meet daily needs, and third is a social networking strategy that can be carried out by families by making good use of relationships to help meet life’s needs.
