PEMBERIAN EFFLEURAGE MASSAGE DENGAN MINYAK ZAITUN UNTUK MENCEGAH RISIKO LUKA TEKAN PADA PASIEN STROKE
Background: Stroke is a loss of brain function that causes the sufferer to experience decreased limb ability so that they undergo treatment with prolonged bed rest which can result in pressure sores. Skin damage occurs due to constant pressure due to immobility for a long period of time. Effleurage massage is one of the interventions provided as an effort to prevent pressure sores in patients with prolonged bed rest. Objective: To apply nursing care to stroke patients with effleurage massage intervention. Methods: The method used was descriptive research with a case study approach to 3 stroke patients. Results: In the three patients who were given effleurage massage with a duration of 4-5 minutes for three days experienced a decrease in the risk of pressure sores as measured using the Braden scale score. Discussion: Effleurage massage is given with olive oil enriched with various vitamins and ingredients that are effective for moisturizing and nourishing the skin which can prevent skin damage, especially in patients with bed rest. Conclusion: Effleurage massage intervention performed for 3 days can improve Braden's score so as to reduce the risk of pressure sores in stroke patients.
