This research discusses the Strategy of the Palembang City General ElectionCommission in Efforts to Increuse Public Participation in the 2019 LegislativeGeneral Election. The background to this research is that there are still people whodid not participate in the 2019 election. The aim of this research is to find out thestrategy of the Palembang City general election commission in Efforts to increasecommunity participation in the 2019 Legisiative Election in Palembang City. Identifyfactors that are obstacles faced by the Palembang City KPU in order to increasecommunity participation. The theory in this research, Brian W Hogwood and LewisA Gunn, consists of 3 stages, namely describing the program plan, determining costsand implementation time resources, progrom procedures. determining ectivityschedules, conducting monitoring or supervision. The method used in this resh isa qualitative method with descripeve analysis. The results of this research starfes theprogram that was carried out, dissemmating election information to the public.spreading the word about the stages of the election and the importance of exercisingthe rightto vote In fact, this strasegy has shortcomings, namely the inaccuracy ofplanning budget estimates for socializution facilities. Not all employees who shouldhave taken part in the socialication were involved, because there were still peoplewho were not involved in the election socialization Kcywords: Strategy, Election, General Election Commission, CommunityParticipation.
