This research is entitled "Strategy to Improve the Performance of Civil Servants at the Secretariat of the DPRD of South Sumatra Province". this research aims to find out how the performance of civil servants at the Secretariat of the DPRD of South Sumatra Province and strategies to improve the performance of civil servants. The research method used in this research is qualitative research, where the type of data, how data collection techniques and data analysis techniques are adjusted to the design of qualitative research methods. This research focuses on the performance of civil servants by using 5 performance indicators, namely work quality, timeliness, initiative, ability and communication. The results of this study indicate that the performance of civil servants at the Secretariat of the DPRD of South Sumatra province is quite good. In terms of work quality it is good but needs to be optimized, timeliness is appropriate and must be improved again, initiative is still lacking, needs improvement, ability is good but needs improvement to deal with some obstacles, and communication is running smoothly but needs to be pursued even better. Based on the opinions expressed by the sources, it can be concluded that the strategy to improve the performance of Civil Servants with various strategies including, namely evaluating work related to problems previously faced, approaching superiors to their employees regarding the problems being faced and the last strategy is giving rewards to employees who have done their job well. The results of this study recommend an increase in the performance of civil servants at the Secretariat of the DPRD Prov. South Sumatra with strategies to improve performance, namely leadership efforts, monitoring or evaluating employees, improving communication and giving awards or rewards to employees.
