Salah satu masalah kesehatan yang banyak dialami saat ini adalah hipertensi. Hipertensi masih menjadi masalah yang cukup besar, menurut WHO 22% penduduk dunia menderita penyakit hipertensi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan indeks masa tubuh dan pola makan dengan kejadian hipertensi di Puskesmas Ngulak. Desain yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah korelasional dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Jumlah sampel 92 responden dengan menggunakan teknik sample random sampling. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner yang kemudian di uji dengan analisis chi-square dengan derajat kesalahan 5% (0,05). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil indeks masa tubuh berat badan kurus terdiri dari 14 responden, berat badan normal terdiri dari 49 responden, dan berat badan gemuk terdiri dari 29 responden. Responden dengan pola makan sehat terdiri dari 22 responden dan pola makan tidak sehat terdiri dari 70 responden. Responden dengan hipertensi tingkat 1 terdiri dari 54 responden dan hipertensi tingkat 2 terdiri dari 38 responden. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara pola makan dengan kejadian hipertensi, dengan nilai p-value = 0,015. Analisis korelasi menunjukkan adanya hubungan lemah dan negatif antara pola makan dan kejadian hipertensi dengan diperoleh nilai r = -0.254. Hasil penelitian indeks masa tubuh dengan kejadian hipertensi menunjukkan tidak adanya hubungan yang signifikan dengan kejadian hipertensi dengan nilai p-value = 0,366. Analisis korelasi menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat hubungan yang signifikan dan negatif antara indeks masa tubuh dan kejadian hipertensi dengan diperoleh nilai r = -0.140. Indeks masa tubuh dan pola makan merupakan salah satu faktor risiko hipertensi. Kelebihan berat badan umumnya memiliki risiko lebih tinggi terkena hipertensi dan faktor utama munculnya hipertensi adalah faktor makanan seperti makanan yang mengandung natrium dan berlemak dalam porsi besar dan dimakan berulang dalam waktu lama dapat menyebabkan hipertensi. Respondents with healthy eating patterns consisted of 22 respondents and unhealthy eating patterns consisted of 70 respondents. Respondents with grade 1 hypertension consisted of 54 respondents and grade 2 hypertension consisted of 38 respondents. The results of this study show that there is a significant relationship between diet and the incidence of hypertension, with a p-value = 0.015. Correlation analysis shows that there is a weak and negative relationship between diet and the incidence of hypertension with a value of r=-0.254. The results of research on body mass index and the incidence of hypertension showed that there was no significant relationship with the incidence of hypertension with a p-value = 0.366. Correlation analysis shows that there is no significant and negative relationship between body mass index and the incidence of hypertension with a value of r = -0.140. Body mass index and diet are risk factors for hypertension. Being overweight generally has a higher risk of developing hypertension and the main factor in the emergence of hypertension is food factors such as foods containing sodium and fat in large portions and eaten repeatedly for a long time can cause hypertension.
