HUBUNGAN PEMBERIAN ASI EKSKLUSIF DENGAN PERTUMBUHAN BAYI USIA 6-24 BULAN DI PUSKESMAS KALIDONI PALEMBANG
Introduction : Hypertension is often found in elderly patients. Hypertension in older age is a risk factor for cardiovascular disease such as heart failure and stroke which can worsen health status. Hypertension that is not controlled and not immediately treated can have increasingly serious complications on health. One of non-pharmacological therapy that can be applied is slow deep breathing exercise. Purpose : Applying slow deep breathing exercise in gerontic nursing care for hypertension. Method : The method used in this scientific report with case study approach on three elderly people with hypertension. Results : The result of assessment revealed a nursing problem, ineffective peripheral perfusion. The interventiom provided by slow deep breathing exercise was carried out twice a day for 5 minutes and was able to lower blood pressure in three clients managed with hypertension. Blood pressure result before applying slow deep breathing exercise to Mrs. AH 145/95 mmHg ,Mr. MZ 179/129 mmHg and Mrs. A 178/95 mmHg. After being apply slow deep breathing exercise,blood pressure Mrs. AH 119/85 mmHg,Mr. MZ 163/114 mmHg dan Mrs. A 150/80 mmHg. Discussion : After being apply slow deep breathing exercise which is done routine can reduce systolic and diastolic blood pressure. Slow deep breathing exercise is included as one of the relaxation methods. During relaxation, muscle fibers lengthen. Decreased transmission of nerve impulses to brain, decreased brain activity and other body function. The characteristics of relaxation response are marked by a decrease in pulse rate, respiratory rate and blod pressure. Conclusion : Slow deep breathing exercise can reduce blood pressure in elderly with hypertension.
