The maternal mortality rate in South Sumatra has increased from 2020 to 2021,one of which is due to the decrease in the coverage of antenatal care visits from 2020 to 2021. But by 2022, maternal mortality has declined and antenatal care visits have increased but have not reached the target. The unattached target of the prenatal care visit could be one of the causes of increased maternal and infant mortality because of the lack of detection of early pregnancy risk factors and the delay in treatment. This research aims to found out the factors associated with antenatal care visits to pregnant women in Abab Health Center Regency Penukal Abab Lematang Ilir. This research was a type of analytical observational research with a retrospective approach. The sampling for this study used purposive sampling, with a total of 61 respondents. Data collection used knowledge questionnaires, attitudes, distance of residence to health facilities, husband support, and attitudes of health workers. The results of the square statistics test obtained factors related to antenatal care visits in pregnant mothers, namely education (p-value = 0,001), knowledge (p-value = 0,000), attitude of mothers (p-value = 0.002), distance of residence to health care facilities (p-value = 0,000), and support of husbands (p − value = 0.022. The distance of residence to health care facilities is a factor that affects irregular antenatal care visits in pregnant women. This is because distance is a factor that facilitates mothers in taking action. Antenatal care is one of the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) programs that provides comprehensive health services to pregnant women. It aims to improve the health of mothers and fetuses during pregnancy and prevent death and morbidity in mothers and children.
